The Power of Prayer

PrayerE-Prayer Chain

The e-mail prayer chain is a mechanism for efficiently and quickly rallying the prayer support of a group of CBC members.  When a prayer need is identified, an e-mail message is sent to the E-Prayer Mailing List explaining the situation.  The recipients then pray for the people and situations identified.

Joining the Prayer Chain

Operating under the auspices of the Ministry of Congregational Care, the CBC E-Prayer List currently includes about 30 members.  Participants are members or friends of CBC who read their e-mail regularly, are willing to pray when asked, and believe that their prayers make a difference.  If you would like to be added to the E-Prayer Mailing List, send an e-mail to Wendy Morris by clicking here.

Making a Prayer Request

If you would like to submit an e-prayer request, contact Wendy Morris via e-mail.  In our experience, the most effective way to do this is to provide a specific request.  In other words, tell us exactly what we should be praying for.  In some cases, privacy concerns will dictate that you make the request general or conceal the individual’s name.  If you have any doubts about how the person involved would feel about being on the e-prayer list, please obtain the permission of the person you want prayed for.  Keep us posted about what happens.  Let us know if our prayers have been answered or if needs change.

Telephone Prayer Chain

We also have a telephone-based prayer chain that reaches the entire congregation.  To place a prayer request, to be added to the prayer chain, or to volunteer to make prayer chain calls, please call the church at (630) 393-9609.
