Across the street and around the world, Community Baptist Church is involved in mission with those in need.  Our Mission Support of the American Baptist Churches, USA enables us to join with other Churches to make a greater difference in the world.   In addition, we support, both financially and with hands-on service, mission work in our local community, region and around the world as well as responding to mission emergencies and opportunities.

Local Missions

At Community Baptist we have a food pantry for people in the community.  We work with many local outreach programs to help people in tangible ways.  Folks from CBC volunteer with the following programs, and CBC provides financial support as well:

• Discoveries Resale Shop
• Local Emergency Assistance Fund
• the Longkumers, a missionary family in North East India
• Warrenville Youth and Family Services

Our Members in Action

Many members at Community Baptist volunteer for and support causes they feel strongly about, above and beyond those directly affiliated with the church.  In addition, 2004 saw the establishment of mission teams to help support various local causes such as Habitat for Humanity.  Here are some of our members in action:

Mission Trip

Five members of Community Baptist Church flew to Mexico with about twenty others from the Chicago area for a two-week Mission Trip in October of 2002.  Ed and Pat helped to repair the road into La Petaca, the rancho in which the First Baptist Church of San Miguel de Allende has a mission, and did a variety of other kinds of physical labor.  Amanda, Wendy and Pastor Diane primarily worked with children in three ranchos, usually leading three programs each day.

We look forward to a mission trip in this country in the near future.
