Agapè is a Greek word for love. It describes the type of unconditional love that God has for us. At Agapè we strive to provide an ecumenical Christian program that demonstrates this kind of love. Our philosophy is based on the acceptance of each child as he or she is. Our teaching techniques are aimed at building confidence, self-respect and responsibility through play and directed experiences. Our curriculum is based on the needs and interests of the children in each class. For more information or to register call André Sherlock, Director at (630) 393—4205 or e-mail us at agape@cbc4me.com.
André Sherlock, Director and Teacher
Mrs. Sherlock began her preschool teaching career about 21 years ago and came to Agapè in 2003. She has a B.A. in English and Education from St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota, and completed all classes in Early Childhood Development necessary to become a Director at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Her philosophy is to take each child for who they are, and believes that preschool is a vital component in education today. “Preschool teachers set the pace for what the future in education will bring! In the eyes of a child, we are their first impression and that is so important!” André and her husband, Bill, have two sons, Tony and Tim. Mary Clark, Teacher
Mrs. Clark is continuing her education at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. She finds her job rewarding as she helps preschoolers learn about their world and about themselves. Mary and her husband, Roger, live in Warrenville. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren, all of whom attended Agapè.
